Thanks Laurence

That would be a long drive so maybe we will have to send Toby and his camera for the 2 days.

Do you plan any special events for members / Crunchers of LHC@Home ?

Would like some kind of meeting (day or evening) with project-staff ...

Supporting BOINC, a great concept !

Maybe it's an OT but it may be useful for many others. Do you know any cheap accomodation during Open Days near Geneva for a few students? We have thought about dormitory but we haven't got an enought big group.

There's a Youth Hostel near the centre of Geneva, not far from the main Cornavin rail station. I think they have family rooms a well as dormitary. Plenty of hotels to suit every budget. I stayed in one near the airport and another near the centre and I don't remember either of them being overly expensive. Just search in your favourite booking site. You can pick up a free local public tranport pass from wherever you stay to get you to Cern. Might have to change bus/tram to get there but the Swiss are hard to beat when it comes to joined-up connections.

Since these days are called "Open Days" i presume there is no registration of any kind necessary?
Is there some kind of time schedule for Saturday and Sunday where to check what there is to see and when?

I really want to go there (and see the giant ATLAS detector).

Thanks and regards, djoser.

You will need to register to see underground section and take part in some events (lecturers, workshops etc.). Last time registration was started about one month before Open Days.
