Don't rush as your health is more important than us getting more tasks. Get well soon, and remember the cabinets are not innocent, one tripped you up and the other butted you with its sharp corner. |

Well that sort of explains why there has been 1454 CMS in progress this long, https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/results.php?hostid=10832065&offset=0&show_names=0&state=1&appid=11 First one I checked so that must be luck. Another 1000 and I sure wish I could have some of them. |

https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/server_status.php It looks like we have some CMS to run here again. |

Indeed, I hope this means Ivan is back and well. Of all the things to attack you in a dangerous place like a collider, he goes and collides with a cabinet! |

My computers which are set to get any type of work usually get just CMS (I assume CMS is given priority on the server). But they're now getting 80% Theory, 20% CMS. I assume this was intentional? I don't mind which ones I run. |

I assume CMS is given priority Since you repeat this statement every now and then. The server code does not have a switch to give priority to a subproject. As long as your computer fulfils the requirements to run any subproject you get what is next in the queue. If you feel there's such a switch, post a link to the relevant code at github. |

I normally get only CMS when I ask for everything, which means CMS is always first in the queue. The other possibility is you're loading 50% of each, but a lot of folk are requesting Theory. Whatever you're doing, you're increasing CMS by giving it to those with no preference. This doesn't happen at any other project, where I assume they have a queue for each, so anyone without a preference gets some of each. I'd prefer some of each to prevent my internet connection throttling task speeds, but there's no way to do that.I assume CMS is given prioritySince you repeat this statement every now and then. |

Just 2 possible solutions - you can use an app_config.xml to limit the #concurrently running CMS tasks - you can run a separate client that runs only CMS ... |

Just 2 possible solutionsSince this doesn't tell the server anything, wouldn't I still only receive CMS, no Theory, and end up with idle cores? - you can run a separate client that runs only CMSI find that rather unreliable. I used to do it to seperate CPU and GPU, so I can make Boinc stop using the CPU when another program is active, since Boinc doesn't have "CPU only" in their exclusive applications code for some reason. There are plenty programs which need a lot of CPU, but don't use the GPU. But the second client doesn't always start or it thinks it's the first one, or Boinc just crashes, it's quite terrible at it and too intermittant to track down. What I do is (as I have several computers), set some to disable CMS by putting them in a seperate venue. |

AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 12-Core Processor [Family 23 Model 113 Stepping 0] (24 Prozessoren) AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor [Family 23 Model 113 Stepping 0] (24 Prozessoren) Mr. Hucker, take home or school or work or default. four are possible, take ONE for CMS and ONE for Theory. This is it what I do since years. One for each project. No problem since 2007! |

Hi guys 'n' gals, thanks for the kind thoughts. Apart from the memory loss and poor coordination, my work laptop has decided that I mistyped the Bitlocker decryption key and won't let me run Windows. A few other problems mean I've lost e-mail and have difficulties with certificates and proxies. Plus I'm limited to my tablet's touchscreen keyboard, which doesn't work too well in a hospital environment. I gave one of my Italian colleagues my scripts for submitting CMD@Home jobs, and she appears to have successfully run a workflow, so there might be more jobs in the pipeline soon. Just for the record, I had a large blood pool between my brain and right skull. One major op and a followup later, I was left with 35 staples closing the wound - I expect the remaining 13 to be removed tonight. |

Thanks for updating us with your situation. Take care, don't get stressed about things like not remembering passwords just now just focus on getting better after the accident and subsequent operation. |

Thank goodness you are OK! Head injuries can be the worst, as we learned when the actor Bob Sagat died from a head injury resulting from a fall. I have been hoping for the best for you, and it's great to hear from you again! Regards, Bob P. |
