The BOINC 4.51 client software is Alpha Test software only. This means that it is possibly unstable, may not work under all conditions, and may be incomplete. It may not compute or submit work successfully, and it is possible that it may corrupt your BOINC installation, your data or your operating system. If you understand this, are happy with it, and are comfortable working with pre-release software then go ahead and install it. Bugs and issues should be reported to the developers. In all other circumstances you should install the current release client (4.13 at the time of posting) which you can get here Giskard - the first telepathic robot. |

NO NO Sir, (respectfully) much of us (me) are still running 4.11 or even 4.09, since they are stable and no probl up/dl/crunch (m$) Only reason to change/migrage is more functions (gui rpc) or problem solving, if there is a problem active.. friendly ric edit: the warning is a good advice, there is a reason why those versions ARE alha releases and have to be handeled as aplha. |

If you're only running LHC, you will probably not get any problem with v4.09, but wouldn't recommend running this version on multi-project. |

> V4.11 was never released except to alpha This is correct. TKS for the hint 3 of the farm are 4.11, the rest 4.09 (all single project) 3 Clients running LHC and CPDN, the rest LHC some with pirates! Running cpdn/LHC on HT and single core CPUs. (no pro..) some days ago, seti suffered of no all upload sucessfull. Tried a couple of clients, alpha and not alphas. the ul misbehaviour kept. Was this a "clients" problem? I don't know. Finaly left seti for a while.. With LHC I remember a short period of problems with download, but it looks like it have been handeled and (for me) no more problem with DL (now work is going slowly down. Client problem?) 3 Days ago, a really old ide drive crashed away, the since a long time aI lot a bit work. This to is not a client Problem.;-) OK there IS a bugbug on HT (dual cpus?) system, independent what kind of project. When only one slot of total more than one slot is used (only 1 Wu crunching) then the gui is making the bad and using the full virtual core of the HT The cli still having "it's" about 50%(the other virtual core cpu). Work finished or dl done, gui recomes to life. due all the time, over rpc, the status and settings can be querried/set, I do not clasify this as as realy probl. Not a beauty. About that, knowing really Are you adressing something special? What is running relatively fine on one side, must not show the same on an other.. BTW Server Status Up, out of work ONLY DAYs ago we had over 130k where is the work gone? |

Many users have several computers, so it's all sitting in caches and will be processed by... ...Thursday, perhaps! Giskard - the first telepathic robot. |

AFAIK, SETI makes V4.13 a mandatory Version change, IMHO you won't get any more Work from SETI with obsolete pre-V4.13 Clients. ___________________________________________
Scientific Network : 36200 MHz «» 8204 MB «» 815.0 GB
|

Hm, in that case I might have heard something wrong then (V4.13 works fine for me though, with the exception of once-a-while stalling a SETI Workunit at 99.x to 100%, requiring a Run - Suspend - Run again workaround to complete it from the last checkpoint again). ___________________________________________
Scientific Network : 36200 MHz «» 8204 MB «» 815.0 GB
|
