Right now it is just Linux and Windows

I'm not so sure about that. Currently there appears to be no work. Hopefully work will be available in the near future

Message was the first post in this very threadTo be clear I am referring to the following message which is on the front page of LHC@home

New application Xtrack
As mentioned in this thread, we finally have the new Xtrack BOINC application available for beta testing.

Please refer to the Sixtrack/Xtrack forum for further details and feedback discussion. Tasks should hopefully be available by tomorrow.

It is still unclear to me if this is the same application that is being tested on LHCdev (Xtrack beam simulation v0.04) or nothing to do with it ?

It's the same windows executable: http://lhcathome-upload.cern.ch/lhcathome/download//xboinc_0.4-windows_x86_64.exe (13,851,610 bytes).

Oh ok (I use linux but I assume it is the same), so after the beta on the dev/test site, there is a beta on the production site ?

In any case there are no tasks to be tested...

First XTrack tasks are now being supplied here. Very short predicted completion time.

Runtime estimate is 1m50s on an i7-1165G7 (Win11). All running tasks are at 50 minutes as of this post.

We know, from the Lhc-dev, that estimated runtime, with this app, is a joke....

Yeah, but even dev estimates were higher. The discrepancy in productions seems to be even more extreme.

I would wait a little longer. For me, the running times have now reached 3 hours.

That just means that the estimated runtime is wrong as written above. they are still running we don't know yet how long they run on average(mine are 2-4hours and still running).
It seems like they have Checkpoints so long runtimes should be less of an problem.

From Develop-Site I have WUs running 90 hours and more, the percentage is already at 100% since a long time and they are still going.

So, keep them running

90 hours? - It will take years to clear out the bunker.

If they took 4 - 5 days per task, that's a tight deadline (~6d)
