This is one of my computers: 10837815. I just aborted a Theory work unit: Theory_2848-4581948-598_1

It appears to have been doing nothing except the heartbeat function. This is what I see:

2025-04-16 10:29:41 (8160): Guest Log: vboxsf: Successfully loaded version 7.1.6 r167084 on 5.14.0-503.14.1.el9_5.x86_64 (LINUX_VERSION_CODE=0x50e00)

2025-04-16 13:11:19 (8160): Capturing screenshot

One hour and 40 minutes before a checkpoint when checkpoints are set to 10 minutes? And in that time, only one minute and 49 seconds of CPU time?

Did the Theory program get an update dropping check points, or change logging, or both?. Why isn't it progressing? Should I just turn off the Theory tasks entirely?

And if you look up my computer, it has 64GBRam and 32 threads.

Checkpointing is disabled since Theory doesn't support it.

Your task setup is slow because lots of DIRECT connections.

What can be seen from your CMS logs is that you defined a local proxy but it can't be contacted.
The reason can be either
- the proxy is not active
- your DNS can't resolve it since it is just a short name

In the latter case check your DNS service or use the proxy's IP instead of the name in BOINC's proxy form.

Thank you for your reply. I am NOT having a stall problem with CMS, only with Theory. The reference I gave is to a Theory task.

I will, however, check into the CMS not using my caching proxy and correct it.

Again, thank you for all your efforts. I have noticed lots of other posts by you.

Well, it looks like it was a short outage on my proxy server, perhaps MS updates? I think it is working as expected:

These lines confirm:
- that openhtc.io is used for CVMFS (good!)
- that your local proxy 192.168.1.125 is used (even better!)
