I have been running LHC@home successfully for some years on an iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) now running Catalina 10.15.7 (19H2026) and a MacBoolPro 16-inch, 2019 now running Sequoia 15.3.2 (24D81). Both computers were processing multiple tasks a day, and were able to keep a processing backlog of multiple days. In addition to LHC@home, I also run Asteroids@home, Einstein@home, Rosetta@home, and RNA World (yet to receive any tasks for RNA World as none ever are available). Recently (last few months at least) every LHC@home task fails with a computation error in less than 10 seconds. Then, I presume due to the continuing computation errors, both computers have been cut back to a quota of 1 task per day, which makes testing and configuration changes effects limited to once a day, but usually every other day. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the LHC project, BOINC Manager, and Oracle VirtualBox, and still no joy. Can anyone point me to some additional troubleshooting that may pay off. |

Computers running vbox apps on macOS have problems for a couple of weeks because there was a new app_version using a buggy vboxwrapper. A new vboxwrapper that is intended to solve the problems is work in progress. Once it is available CERN needs to publish a fresh app_version based on it. No due date since vboxwrapper is maintained outside CERN. |
