My workstations run about 16h for one CMS-task. Others do same work within 4h. This makes me think, virtualbox takes only one cpu for work while 4cpus are loaded. What's going wrong here? |

All CMS tasks currently sent out use 4 cores inside the VM for event processing but around 1 core during job setup and stageout. Due to a rather complex algorithm computers get sent 1..n subtasks sequentially. Consider the task is running fine as long as the CPU time significantly exceeds the walltime. But be patient and do not compare both times within the 1st hour as the task may still be in the setup phase. |

Yes they are running fine but one of yours: 3 Mar 2025, 6:50:10 UTC 3 Mar 2025, 12:35:28 UTC Fertig und Bestätigt 15,629.32 49,357.67 one of mine: 1 Mar 2025, 8:08:31 UTC 1 Mar 2025, 21:15:07 UTC Fertig und Bestätigt 47,187.62 178,800.40 Don't think this machine is much slower then yours, so what's different? |

As already posted: Due to a rather complex algorithm computers get sent 1..n subtasks sequentially. Your computer isn't faster nor slower. It just runs more subtasks. And there is no option for a volunteer to configure this. |
