Registry key "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceGuard\Scenarios\WindowsHello\Enable"? Does not exist Create a new registry key to download some wus? It seems not a good idea... In addition ensure "Run native if available? (Not recommended for Windows)" at the prefs page is not checked for the venue your Windows computers are attached to. I have Windows and this option has never been enabled. |

Hello Business from Windows11 today. Two PC's being stopped with updates from my side. Don't know why Microsoft want to update 11pro Systems with "Hello Business". |

new problem: while CMS and Theory task run well on my new Windows 11 (after having overcome all the initial problems by making the adaptions in the registry as discussed above in this thread), Atlas tasks are failing after several minutes. What I noticed when the task was running: there was not button "show VM console" in the lefthand part of the BOINC manager. This was obviously confirmed in the stderr when it says "Required extension pack not installed, remote desktop not enabled." However, the extension pack is installed, of course. the complete stderr can be seen here: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=419173888 So, what' wrong this time? Edit: my guess: the wrapper 26206 should be relplaced by 26208 (as it was the case for CMS and Theory recently) |

Have Virtualbox 7.0.22 from Boinc-Website with Extensionpack 7.0.22. Atlas is running for me in Win11pro. vboxwrapper is difficult, because of Theory, CMS AND Atlas in Windows. |

So, what' wrong this time? Good quess! With ATLAS I have the same problems as mentioned here. I had errors. valids (short runs without HITS) and only 1 real valid: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/results.php?hostid=10690380&offset=0&show_names=0&state=0&appid=14 |

hm, how come your tasks used wrapper 26208, while mine downloaded 26206 (while 26208 was already present in the lhcathome... folder? So, what' wrong this time? |

so, that's what I did:So, what' wrong this time? I renamed the wrapper 26208 to read 26206 - at least with the result that now the VM console button shows up in the BOINC manager; however, the console does not work properly. I processed several tasks, with 2 types of result: - the task finished after about half an hour and yields credit points, but did NOT produce a HITS file: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=419180754 - the task fails after about 15-18 minutes with confirmation error: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=419181161 Conclusion: ATLAS needs an updated VBox wrapper. |

computezrmle wrote on Jan. 15, 2025: I wonder which registry key will be required after the next Windows update.yesterday, I dared to make some Windows updates - and surprise, surprise: CMS and Theory are still working (without any new adaptions to the registry). And, as before, Atlas does not function: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=419685524 Well, I'll have to live with this problem. |

only 3 cores cpu :(. No. ATLAS checks how many cores are available and uses up to 8 in a VirtualBox VM and up to 12 if you run the native app. |

Only 12? So it won't be able to blast all 400 events with a 256 cores cpu? Also Why does lhcathome give me Atlas workunits when i set settings to SixTrack: no sixtracktest: no CMS Simulation: no Theory Simulation: yes ATLAS Simulation: no If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? yes?
