I am running BOINC 8.0.2 and VB 7.0.20R163906 and trying to run LHC@home and I get this: i am tryng to run LHC@home using BOINC and virtralbox and I get this error "The exception breakpoint. A breakpoint has been reached. (0X800000003) occurred in the appolication at location 0X000007FF88CA54FBF Any idea what I should do? system: AMD Ryzan 7 5700G 64GB RAM and a Nvidia 1080TI. I just use the system for BOINC and VB to run win2000 Pro to connect with vintage computers. I was planning on doing a full format and reinstalling BOINC and VB and not updating VB to the latest version or installing extensions. Also, it seems really hard to get LHC to run on computers. My main PC a 13th gen 13900KS and a 4090RTX has BOINC installed and just LHJC nothing else and I can't get it to download any work units and same with a laptop. It seems really hard to get work units. I am not sure why. Thanks for reading. |

This computer returns valid vbox tasks: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/show_host_detail.php?hostid=10610013 It reports: Virtualbox (7.0.6) installed, CPU has hardware virtualization support and it is enabled The other computer in your computer list is https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/show_host_detail.php?hostid=10860525 It reports: Virtualbox (7.0.6) installed, CPU does not have hardware virtualization support That computer will not get any vbox tasks until it reports hardware virtualization support being enabled Since there are a couple of reasons you may look through the forum. Hints: BIOS Hyper-V Windows settings like "memory integrity" As for "The exception breakpoint..." This is often reported to be caused by a hard disk issue. |

I did a full OS install and drivers and just installed BOINC with VB and did not do anything else for Endeavour-x570. can you check if this works? I am not sure where you are seeing the diagnostics. And can you check Enterprise-z790? I disabled memory integrity check. I do have Vm support enabled in BIOS. motherboard is an Asus Proart Z790. I am legally blind so I am not sure if I am over looking something. I can't seem to get it to download work units from BOINC. I don't know what I am doing wrong. My Explorer-GE63 is a MSI GE63 and LHC seems to work just fine. |

Once the necessary BIOS parameters are correctly enabled (VT-x/AMD-v) issues are usually between Windows (Hyper-V) and VirtualBox. There's nothing the project can do as this affects setting that must be done by the computer owner. Always check your computer details pages (follow the link from your account page) for "Virtualbox (x.y.z) installed, CPU has hardware virtualization support and it is enabled". In addition check the logs reported back to the server for this type of error: Command: VBoxManage -q startvm "boinc_d695773fd83979ee" --type headless Output: VBoxManage.exe: error: Not in a hypervisor partition (HVP=0) (VERR_NEM_NOT_AVAILABLE). VBoxManage.exe: error: AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS) (VERR_SVM_DISABLED) VBoxManage.exe: error: Details: code E_FAIL (0x80004005), component ConsoleWrap, interface IConsole Read the posts at the VirtualBox forum to get an idea where the issues come from and how to solve them. A good entry point is here.
