Virtualisierung Virtualbox (7.0.14) installiert, Prozessor besitzt keine hardwareseitige Unterstützung für Virtualisierung
Something wrong in BIOS for using Hardware-Acceleration. (AMD-V or VT-X)
Or, WSL is using it in a wrong way.
1/31/2024 11:04:21 PM | | WSL detected:
1/31/2024 11:04:21 PM | | [Ubuntu] (default): Linux Ubuntu (Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS [5.15.133.1-microsoft-standard-WSL2])

Don't see any thing wrong with AMD-v since Task Manger shows it's enabled.
If it is WSL then Windows or BOINC needs to fix it. Not going to uninstall WSL if I want to use it.
I can't fine the AMD-v settings in the BIOS for my ASRock but Leo Moon CPU-V shows AMD-v is enabled.
I did look into LHC on what I need to enable and to uninstall Hyper-V but Leo Moon shows SLT and VM monitor mode disabled but LHC never says anything about those two and if I need to enable them.
ASRock B605E Taichi.

Well......
WSL uses "type 1" virtualization, but that is totally incompatible with the "type 2" virtualization used by the Oracle system deployed by LHC. As far as I can gather it is not possible to have both "type 1" and "type 2" virtualizations running on the same PC. It may be possible to do some form of dual boot allowing you to boot into either a "type 1" environment or a "type 2" environment, but I don't think either configuration would allow the other to run at the same time.

That may or may not be the problem because I uninstalled WSL and BOINC still doesn't want to grab any Virtual projects including Rosetta.
FAQ isn't helping either.

Sorry but uninstalling WSL did not work.
I even d/l the BOINC/V-Box bundle to see if that was the case. But no.
I can run Mint on Virtual Box.

Try this from my checklist:

Did you try to crunch Projects using VMs in the past while VT-X / AMD-V / VIA-VT was not enabled? Could be that BOINC has kept this in mind!

To check and fix this, first exit BOINC and make sure, all BOINC-Tasks have really finished.

In your BOINC_Data-Directory you will find a client_state.xml. Open this with a simple editor and search for:
<p_vm_extensions_disabled>1</p_vm_extensions_disabled>

If this is absent or the number is 0 / zero than all is fine. Otherwise change it to 0 / zero <p_vm_extensions_disabled>0</p_vm_extensions_disabled> and safe the file. Be carefull to save it as a real ascii-file

Be carefull that you closed your BOINC-Client successfully before you change anything in client_state.xml. Otherwise BOINC will overwrite your changes

Supporting BOINC, a great concept !

Is Windows 11 Memory integrity on? I think it needs to be off also. You can search forum for 'Memory integrity' to see posts about it. If it isn't in the checklist, it probably should be added.

From my experience, you just have to turn off the following Windows features: Virtual Machine Platform and Windows Hypervisor Platform. Unchecking these two should disable a bunch of other features depending on them, like sandbox, etc. Memory integrity still has to be turned off manually IIRC, which is a bit puzzling since it should depend on Virtual Machine Platform feature.

Ironically, WSL is actually fine so long as you use WSL1, not WSL2. WSL1 is not dependent on the Virtual Machine Platform feature. However, the default in Windows 11 is WSL2 and you have to manually set it to WSL1 and convert your images. WSL1 does lose some features like ability to mount luks, but in return, the start up is much faster and IPv6 works. I ended up liking WSL1 more and boot a real VM for the use case not supported by WSL1.
