On a fresh Windows10 installation (after a defective SSD was exchanged), I installed the lastest Oracle version 7.0.6. When running ATLAS, some tasks finish okay, others do not. They keep running, but no CPU usage at all. A look to the VM console shows that no tasks have been processed. Here two examples: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=386175658 https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=386196333 the Hypervisor system log shows the following ERROR right 10 seconds after start of the task: 00:00:10.207509 ERROR [COM]: aRC=VBOX_E_NOT_SUPPORTED (0x80bb0009) aIID={300763af-5d6b-46e6-aa96-273eac15538a} aComponent={SessionMachine} aText={This VM is not encrypted}, preserve=false aResultDetail=0 is this to say that the Vbox version does not work? However, some other ATLAS tasks were working well, like: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=386185806 Also, CMS is working without any problem. So, what can I do? |

Some facts that make me guess vbox did not cause the issue: - both of your failed VMs started fine and got a Panda job - the computer runs CMS VMs without obvious issues Looks like the real problem was located deeper inside the ATLAS job but the available logs don't include any information about it and what to do to solve it. |

Is your multiattach in Virtualboxmanager clean, or are there yellow triangle? Do you work with LAN or WiFi? |

Is your multiattach in Virtualboxmanager clean, or are there yellow triangle?that's what I had checked first - it's clean. This notebook is connected via WLAN (as it was before, since 2 years, without any problem). |

What when you go back to Virtualbox 6.1.40 (support untl the end of 2023)? |

What when you go back to Virtualbox 6.1.40 (support untl the end of 2023)?well, that's something I could try if the problem persists. Currently, CMS tasks run without problems, tomorrow I'll test Theory. Then I might try ATLAS again to see what happens. |

Currently, CMS tasks run without problems, tomorrow I'll test Theory. Then I might try ATLAS again to see what happens.after Theory tasks have run well for a day, I resumed ATLAS. Unfortunately, it again did not work: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=386309198 so, indeed a problem between ATLAS and Vbox 7.0.6 ? |

Have also one Win11pro with Virtualbox 7.0.6, but with LAN-Cable instead of WiFi. The Network-Adress for this Computer show a 172. Adress instead of the right Networkadress from my Network. Is your IP-Adress seen for this Host in the LHCathome website the same as you defined in your network? Atlas download (Have a Squid in use) doesn't work for me. Theory and CMS not tested. |
