I'm running Zorin 16 (Ubuntu 20) on https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/show_host_detail.php?hostid=10821595 and installed the boinc-virtualbox package which also installs virtualbox. I got computation errors for tasks other than sixtrack (as you can see, two failed theory tasks are listed for that machine).

lscpu shows VT-x. I even tried with Zorin 15 before this. I finally gave up and removed virtualbox and now only keep the machine for sixtrack but I would like to know why this keeps failing virtualbox applications. Any help appreciated.

The failed tasks were Theory native tasks which don't use VirtualBox.
They failed because of a missing local CVMFS client.

If you want to run Theory vbox tasks you need to reinstall VirtualBox, preferably a recent version from you Linux repository.

Then disable "Run native if available?" at your prefs page:
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/prefs.php?subset=project

Since your computer has only 8 GB RAM it is recommended not to run ATLAS/CMS vbox (they require too much RAM).
