In Virtualbox 7.x.x is now TPM as a parameter usable for VM and other work. |

I would like to upgrade, but I'm currently on 5, since 6 didn't like Cosmology@Home. Is this sorted in 7? |

I would like to upgrade, but I'm currently on 5, since 6 didn't like Cosmology@Home. Is this sorted in 7?I don't know what your VBox V6 issue was with Cosmo, but special for you I added Cosmology@Home to my list of projects. I'm running VirtualBox version 7.0.4 The VBox-job runs fine and came to a successful end and was validated OK, cause my total credit increased with 18.6 credits, but I can't see my result, I can't and don't want lo login, because Cosmology@Home can't deliver secure connections (ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR). |

Thanks.I would like to upgrade, but I'm currently on 5, since 6 didn't like Cosmology@Home. Is this sorted in 7?I don't know what your VBox V6 issue was with Cosmo, but special for you I added Cosmology@Home to my list of projects. There's something buggered with their home page, seems like they tried to add that annoying https nonsense and didn't implement it properly, the old http version works just fine - this discussion has links to the various pages in your account: http://www.cosmologyathome.org/forum_thread.php?id=7821 As for TPM, isn't that just some annoying thing to get in the way of you installing Windows 11? (Yeah I know about the Rufus bypass) Myself and many others could not get VB6 to work with cosmology. We're all fine on 5. I shall try Cosmology with 7 now.... works perfectly :-) |

Cosmology (and other projects) need to upgrade the vboxwrapper to version 26206. https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/vboxwrapper_26206_windows_x86_64.exe.zip https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/vboxwrapper_26206_x86_64-apple-darwin.zip https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/vboxwrapper_26206_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu Older (Windows) versions use an old .COM interface which is known not to work reliable with vbox >= 6.x. That interface has been removed in v26206. ATLAS/CMS/Theory vbox from here already upgraded to v26206. As for TPM: Vboxwrapper ignores this option since older vbox versions don't provide it and VMs (at least from here) don't require it. |

Cosmology (and other projects) need to upgrade the vboxwrapper to version 26206.Only Cosmology that I know of didn't like 6. Strange it likes 7! And their website is very broken, and there's no admins around. It's running on auto. |

This Cosmology-task ran with vboxwrapper 26206: http://www.cosmologyathome.org/result.php?resultid=70302402Yip, all mine are working too. I guess VB put back in what was taken away previously, saving the rather absent scientists at Cosmology from sorting the problem. http://www.cosmologyathome.org/results.php?userid=73141&offset=0&show_names=0&state=4&appid= That's nice, I can now use the latest VB to make everything presumably more efficient? What have I gained (in Boinc projects) from having 7 instead of 5? Are they more efficient? |
