You will have to start the VirtualBox Manager using the BOINC user account. If you use a different user account you will see an empty list as long as that user doesn't run any VMs. |

Why do you need a "boinc account"? Boinc doesn´t deserve to have its own account. Anyway, look here: https://www.cyberciti.biz/open-source/command-line-hacks/linux-run-command-as-different-user/ https://gist.github.com/kasunbg/5502cb630429819d07b5dc0cfa26813c |

If "boinc" is the username of your BOINC account you may try this: su - boinc -c VirtualBox |

Boinc doesn´t deserve to have its own account. BOINC should always run under it's own user account. |

If "boinc" is the username of your BOINC account you may try this: OpenSUSE Leap 15.4, starting from a root shell: # su - boinc -c VirtualBox This account is currently not available. Something to do with the fact that the account login shell is /sbin/nologin (since boinc-client runs as a system service). |
