When you are running your PC's only half a day the whole week,
sixtrack is the best way, because, the other Project's, need Virtualbox and a permanent Network-Connection.

... and because the other projects do not like long interruptions, they will probably error out when you restart your computer. Note that sixtrack work is not constantly available.

Thanks for the answers.
I have configured SixTrack for this computer to store up to 3 days of work so that I always have tasks available.

Best regards.

haha, this wording is rather euphemistic :-) In fact, Sixtrack is almost never available :-(

Since this is help related, I thought I'd ask here.

I have some tasks which have been running for 2 days and I'm concerned they might get stuck at 99.99% and waste even more time.
Can anyone advise if I should abort these ATLAS work units?
None of my other crunchers are currently having this issue. I don't set any parameters, I just use whatever the default is. So this is my 9980XE in question running 4 tasks simultaneously. All 4 tasks are in the near completion stage. I've even tried pausing the others and letting 1 task crunch but I'm losing hope it will complete.
Using Oracle VM.

Is this common?

Thanks for any help. :)

Seeing the same.
What you can do is in Virtualbox for this VM, right mouse and restarting this VM.
For me it helps and restarted again.

Hi,

It didn't work for me..... although that brings up another question.

Why is it if I right click on a VM task, go "settings" - "system" - "processor" that it says it's set at 8 CPU's and I can't change it? That now explains why all my systems are crunching with "8" CPU's.
How do you change that?

In LHCatHome prefs, you can set a default for Atlas.
But, it's useful to work with an app_config.xml.
You can search in the messages for app_config.xml,
but must expand searching (default are 30 days).

I am familiar with app_config files, thank you.
