Hi,

I'll say first that I am a bit of a newb when it comes to Linux, I did manage to get CVMFS setup and confirmed working however the apps seem to be failing out with this error:

"FATAL: container creation failed: hook function for tag prelayer returns error: failed to create /var/lib/alternatives directory: mkdir /var/lib/alternatives: permission denied"

Any idea what I missed?

This is the main issue:

You may need to install a recent Singularity package from your Linux repositories.


Be aware that your ATLAS uses 12 threads during the main calculation phase but only 1 thread during setup and stage out.
Setup can take up to 30 min and inexperienced users may think the task is idle.
