Hello everyone, I have just changed machines and I re-install boinc to resume my activity. I am on Fedora 35 with an I7 and 16GB of RAM. I used the command dnf install boinc-client boinc-manager To install the set and I connect to the @LHC project. So far so good. But after a few minutes I get a notification with the message telling me that VirtualBox is not installed while version 6.1 is installed and I use it every day to launch a Windows VM. I have checked the value of p_vm_extensions_disabled and it is indeed 0. In doubt, I added the user boinc to the vboxusers group, restarted the boinc-client service, but nothing to do. I still have the same message. Is there an additional manipulation to be done? Thanks in advance. |

version 6.1 is installed and I use it every day Looks like you have at least some basic experience with VirtualBox. You may login as user boinc. Start vboxmanager from that account, define a dummy VM and start that VM. It's not necessary to fully install an OS on the dummy VM, just check for error messages that eventually appear during the process. At the end the dummy VM can be removed. Now check if the user boinc has access rights to all BOINC directories. Even if all of that appears to be correct you may reboot the computer. |
