I look at "Projects in which you are participating" and I see correct credits for this regular LHC@home project but at the same time exactly identical numbers for the dev project. Is that feature working as planned ?

Those credit numbers are correct for LHC@home but for CERN CMS-dev they are wrong.
I joined this LHC@home project in Oct 2018. The dev project I joined in Aug 2021. Somehow also the line for dev project shows Oct 2018. "Total credit", "Average credit" and "Since"... they all show stats of my LHC@home account.

The actual dev project site https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/home.php shows correct info and stats for me there under "Account information" and "Computing" but under "Projects in which you are participating" the numbers there are wrong too (they show my LHC@home credits again).

What to think about that ?

You joined LHC@home-dev just a few days ago.
To show the correct values for each project the projects exchange data with various statistics pages and vice versa.
This usually happens once per day and it takes a couple of days to stabilize on all statistics and project pages.
Be patient and check the issue again in a week, may be in 2 weeks.

Okay, I see that my numbers for CERN CMS-dev in "Projects in which you are participating" are finally correct today. It took precisely 2 months until those numbers found their right source.
