Sorry I have to ask, what's that in your picture? Google image search says it's part of a bouncy castle. I thought it was the end of a waterslide, but there's no water. Is it a very small hadron collider piece?Same here, i have 72 sixtrack waiting for validation. |

Sorry I have to ask, what's that in your picture? Is it a very small hadron collider piece? Yes, my two sons during CERN Open Days 2019. Not so small piece of LHC, you can see it on Google Earth (46°13'51.81"N 6°03'18.69"E) |

It's a retired magnet, mainly used to keep the beam on track. Here are a few example links (you may find many more): https://accelconf.web.cern.ch/p03/PAPERS/TOAB001.PDF https://cerncourier.com/a/superconductivity-and-the-lhc-the-early-days-2/ https://www.bnl.gov/magnets/LHC_IR_Dipoles/ |
