For Windows 10 X64 all you do is update BOINC.......no magic tricks.

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php
Version 7.16.7

Suspend your work and then X-out your current version of BOINC and update to this version and reboot and all your finished tasks will go to Cern servers and leave your BOINC Manager Tasks finished page and then continue your work and they will return when finished as usual.

That wasn't for Keith as you can see since I didn't mention his name.

Thanks Peter, it's actually a 14" screen Android tablet :)
8 cores, 3 GB RAM, 32gb storage.

It's more powerful than my Windows 10 netbook convertible.

You didn't mention anybody, or reply to anybody in particular (no "in response to message xxxxx"), so I assumed it was chronological.

Same RAM and storage as my £40 phone! Although it only has 4 cores.

It is to STAY at the top of this thread so when ANYONE wonders why this happened they come here and fix the problem in mere minutes.

So one more try.

That's fine for 64bit Windows, but Windows is not the only operating system that has this problem.
My Windows system is working fine, but I still need to report the work on my Android system, so do many other Android users!.

Some people use other operating systems, that are not Windows !

Believe it or not, not everyone uses Windows.

Two weird things:
Why was an Android Boinc issued that didn't sort it?
Why haven't LHC done what Rosetta did and sort it at their end? Rosetta now works on any Boinc version.

And my Android LHC tasks were destroyed as I had to uninstall to downgrade (!) my Boinc to the "new" version, which had a lower version number than the previous one I had. I hesitate to call anyone at Boinc a "programmer".

I'm hoping that the admins here can do that.

https://support.sectigo.com/articles/Knowledge/Sectigo-AddTrust-External-CA-Root-Expiring-May-30-2020 is the official website of the CA that owns AddTrust.
AddTrust certificates are apparently "Legacy" software, which I assume means that the company was bought by Sectigo at some point in the last 20 years.
The most recent Android BOINC updates were several months ago.

This page https://support.sectigo.com/Com_KnowledgeDetailPage?Id=kA03l00000117LT may also be useful to the server administrators for LHC@home

This should be fixed now, also for wget and older BOINC clients.

This expiration took many of us by surprise:

Sorry for the trouble and happy crunching.

Thanks Nils.

The outage can clearly bee seen in the mcplots graphics.

A: CA cert expired
B: Issue was solved

The figures also show that
- a couple of clients were not affected
- a couple of of users were able to solve it on their side

found this on another thread - it worked for me.

I analyzed the ca-bundle.crt file and found out that AddTrust External Root certificate expired today.
I removed the expired certificate part from the file and now everything works normal for me again.

Here is a guide to a quick fix:
Backup all your sensitive data first, This is only tested on 1 computer so far.
Exit BOINC
Open file manager and go to C:ProgramFilesBOINC or wherever you have installed BOINC.
Make a backup copy of ca-bundle.crt just in case my instuctions screw up something.
Right click on ca-bundle.crt and open it with Notepad
Scroll down to AddTrust External Root, Below this is the expired certificate.
Delete everything from -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- to -----END CERTIFICATE----- including the begin and end lines.
Save the file
Start BOINC and try again.

happy crunching

Does anyone here still have an Android device running v7.4.53 still attached to the system? Could they please confirm whether or not Nils Høimyr's fix has solved the problem for that specific version? We have a user at BOINC for whom the Rosetta fix appears not to have worked in the case of that specific (older) version.

Hello Richard,

I have version 7.4.53 for aarch64-android-linux-gnu running and only project World Community Grid connected.
I tried to add LHC@home but the BOINC-app told me: Connection failed.

That's odd, as when I uninstalled my Android's Boinc and installed freshly the new version, I could not attach to LHC (but every other project was fine including Rosetta). Then LHC did something at their end and it attached. Seems like it needs a fix at both ends?

I suppose you are running the not recommended development version 7.16.3 for android and you get new sixtracks, can upload and get new tasks?

I'm running the recommended in these forums to fix the bug 7.16.3, and I was not able to even attach to LHC. But then LHC did something at their end and I attached and am running sixtracks.

OK, thanks for the confirm. I'll finish my WCG-tasks (some hours), try to install the apk and will see whether I can attach LHC@home to my phone now.
