What do you have set for your preferences and what projects and applications are you running?

Looks like you have 4 cores / 8 with hyperthreading and 8Gb ram.

You can try looking in the Theory forum for ideas but setting your computer preferences to use less than 100% of the number of processors would be a start. You might need to set up an 'app_config.xml' to control this project and it's applications.

Yeti's checklist for Virtual Box may help sort it out also.

up to 90% of cores
up to 90% of time
Dont use GPU while in use
stop when usage is above 50%
Change between tasks every 120 Minutes
Save tasks every 600 sec

To translate / Understand "Yeti's checklist" I need a while. But yes, Virtual Box may be a problem since I haven't check my Bios vor ages and I'm not expericend to mantain a BIOS.

'app_config.xml' is a file you create that helps control the applications in BOINC for each project. It is a bit complicated.

Did everything run okay before adding the LHC project? I looked at a few of your tasks and it may be you're running out of memory for the virtual machine tasks.
Are you only running Theory tasks at LHC?

Message 42177 - Posted: 14 Apr 2020, 21:14:31 UTC - in response to Message 42172.

I installed an update of BIONIC and VM. Changed some parameters of BIONIC.
So far no problems any more with the exeption that seti and co don't find the GPU.
Regading that I found a posting that leads me to security customization in windows services.
So I think the problems is related to GPU or screensaver.
Think, that I paused LHC project ages ago cause I had such Problems.
Wher do I find which projects I'm running in LHC?
Ah! : --need I to translate?

You can try Google Translate for language.
https://translate.google.com

When logged into the LHC website, you click on your name on the upper right side. This takes you to Your Account. LHC@Home Preferences shows what tasks you have selected to run here. I have Theory and Atlas selected. I don't think CMS is working, right now.

Virtual Box related tasks run at a higher priority than normal BOINC task and can slow your computer, no response.

It looks like you are just getting Theory tasks. Try posting in the forum for those tasks. There may be someone that know what your error messages means.

Maybe you installed BOINC as a service this time.
In that case you can't run jobs that need the GPU or VirtualBox.

Hyper-V is Microsoft's version of a virtual machine or hypervisor.

I don't think that is the problem here as the computer is showing "Microsoft Windows 8.1
Core x64 Edition, (06.03.9600.00)"

Did you switch to Atlas tasks at LHC or are you quitting all LHC tasks?

Without additional measures and correct settings ATLAS will try to run the tasks with 10200 MB RAM which is far too much since the commputer has only 8GB.

Theory logfiles point out an incorrect VirtualBox installation:
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=271688100
2020-04-17 22:16:28 (3152): Status Report: Launching vboxsvc.exe. (PID = '7704')
2020-04-17 22:16:39 (3152): Error in guest additions for VM: -2147024891
.
.
.
VBoxManage.exe: error: Details: code E_ACCESSDENIED (0x80070005), component VirtualBoxClientWrap, interface IVirtualBoxClient

I suggest to repair the VirtualBox installation first and then to try Theory instead of ATLAS.

That's getting tricky - at least for me.
Seems that the VM-Box is running with insufficient authorisation.
Of Course BOINC is not start from the Admin account.
If I start VM with appropriate rights the fist thing it does is to ask for an update.
Second is something I do not know how to cope with:
Runtime error opening 'D:\ProgramData\BOINC\slots\1\boinc_bbfee02dfd5d7a80\boinc_bbfee02dfd5d7a80.vbox' for reading: -103 (Path not found.).
F:\tinderbox\win-6.0\src\VBox\Main\src-server\MachineImpl.cpp[752] (long __cdecl Machine::i_registeredInit(void)).
Fehlercode:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Komponente:
MachineWrap
Interface:
IMachine {5047460a-265d-4538-b23e-ddba5fb84976}

Some Help?
TIA
