Dear All, thank you for your continued support.
I hope you had a Merry Christmas and I wish
you a Guid New Year.

I am back, but rather slow, after my recent heart operation.
My priority is to publish "IEEE 754 as intended - or how to
obtain identical double precision floating-point results".

SixTrack LHC@home is running well but tasks are
still being taken rather slowly and I reckon we use,
at best, one third of your provided capacity. Still your
support is vital for the High Luminescent LHC studies.

Personally I have a couple of issues:
I need to access old migrated data to define SixTrack
performance and this is a problem right now.
While the Invalid result error rate is in general very low,
24 Invalid and over one million valid today, I need to
identify the genuine computational errors.

You can find my recent CERN Open Days presentation at
http://mcintosh.web.cern.ch/mcintosh/ along with the state
of my research. Eric

Hello Eric,

I was about to email you but just happened to check here first and good to see you here again.

Maybe I will send you an email anyway.

And have been running all the Sixtracks I can get here lately but it tends to be like 2004 except I have many more cores to use these days.

I wonder how many of us from that era are still here?

I wonder how many of us from that era are still here?

Close to 10 of the 2004 group, but I know not many of them were here every day and I never missed a day yet in all these years.
Of course in the early years we had to wait for Sixtracks and usually got hundreds of that 5 second .05 credit version
But I still tried to get all of them

I imagine Ben still remembers 2014 at T4T too
(I still can't type in the dark without a typos though)

Actually only Sixtrack was running in 2004. Magic referred to T4T in 2014, probably concerning another issue. T4T ran first in 2010 or 2011.

Greetings to all old timers, and everyone else too!

What I meant to say was 2011 as far as T4T since March 2011 was the first time we got actual Valid tasks to work and my old XP Pro X86 was the first one to run them without any problems and I finished the last of the work there after we sent VB's over here.......that old beast ended up #1 on the stats page and is still running Sixtracks here but is retired from running VB work.

That first month when they started working it was my Windows pc's and Toby got his working too.
Then we started doing update wrappers until it would also work on Linux and sort of worked on Mac
(I saved some old records of that on one of my pc's)
