Hello,

I installed Boinc a while ago and since yesterday I installed Virtualbox to be able to participate in the atlas project. Little problem, I don't know how to configure virtualbox and boinc to work together. someone will be kind enough to explain the process to me for a smooth operation please.

you don't need to configure anything. Just install Virtual Box (plus the extension pack), restart your computer, and from then on, your machine should be able to crunch all VM tasks.

Where can I find the extension pack?

Where can I find the extension pack?

See:
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

You computer has 4 CPU cores but only 6 GB RAM.
If you plan to run ATLAS the project server will calculate a RAM requirement of 3000+4*900=6600 MB RAM which is far more than your computer has.
You will have to reduce the default setting at this page:
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/prefs.php?subset=project

You may consider to set "Max # CPUs=1".
"Max # CPUs=2" might work but could cause problems. Best would be to try out if it works or not.
Higher values are not recommended.

I stopped the Atlas project as well as all the others (Except those who don't need virtualbox) because as soon as I receive a project after 40 seconds they get into Calculation error. 😭

Sorry for my english it's google translation

Some suggestions:

1. Sixtrack tasks succeed on your computer. You may keep them checked.

2. Some users report problems with VirtualBox 6.1.x. You may downgrade to 6.0.18.
Be aware to keep the version of your vbox additions in sync with the main version.

3. Your logs report problems regarding the VT-x detection.
This may be caused by another hypervisor running concurrently, e.g. Hyper-V.
Visit Yeti's checklist to find out how to solve this.

4. Your computer has not much RAM, hence CMS and ATLAS may overload it.
Try to get valid results for Theory first before you try the heavy apps again.
