Thanks to Laurence, we now have an explicit option in the project preferences for running native ATLAS. This means that you no longer have to check "run test applications", but you need to make sure that "Run native if available?" is checked. This has been done automatically for active volunteers but please check if you have it enabled.

This mechanism also provides a way to choose between native and vbox apps on Linux (previously uninstalling vbox was the only way to stop vbox tasks). If everything works as expected then we can (finally!) move the native app out of beta.

It's only set for the venue I use for NTheory.
I had to manually set it to "yes" for ATLAS.
"Beta App" must also be checked.

"Beta App" must also be checked.

I have to set that also. Just the "Run native if available?" is not enough.

Oops, sorry, of course if the app is still in beta then you need to enable test apps. I've now removed the beta flag on the native app so it should be no longer necessary.

I suspect that checking "Run native" means you will no longer get vbox WU on any machines. So if you want to run both native and vbox under the same account you need to set up different work/home preferences for the different types of machines.

That's correct.

The 'native' setting is only for Linux hosts which also have VBox installed to show you prefer 'only' native tasks.

Yes David and Crystal,
you are right. when native pref is NOT enabled, Atlas under Windows get Tasks. It is a combination only with Linux.
But.... we have only home, school and work. This was a idea longer before to get more difference than three options.
When -native is one pref of them including Atlas AND Theory? Is this a idea?
Edit: Theory Native: have a separate line in the prefs and is obsolet!

Have now Atlas AND Theory under work activated with native.

Not yet.
There are still 122 Theory native in progress and when a task errors out or is too late a resend should be possible.
After all 'old' native Theory's are crunched that line will be removed, like the application Theory Native from the applications page, I suppose.

Thank you Crystal. This will be in some Time, when this old native Theory are finished, We are watching it up to Zero on the Server.
Have now Atlas AND Theory under work activated with native.

Oh, there are two Atlas -native and two Theory now for four CPU's running. This will not be so good.
It is better to split in a other way for home, school and work. A fourth pref would be helpful.

Why?
4 cores, 4 tasks.
Looks like a perfect match.

There are 4 venues:
home, school, work and default, but I agree that more would be helpful.

Thank you for your tipp. But for me is default=home.

Pref Computerlocation is shown with home and home is not in use!
