ok, so what is this CVMFS and how do i update it on ubuntu?

CVMFS is a network filesystem developed at CERN to distribute huge amounts of data.
It is included in each VM if you run vbox tasks.
If you run ATLAS native or Theory native you must install a local CVMFS client which will connect your machine to CERN's data repositories.

Be aware that ATLAS also requires Singularity.
