Setting up cvmfs (necessary for Cern experiments)(Linux)(mac also)
Also if you have a boinc Ubuntu VM or docker VM (Have at least 8gb of dynamic ram available & swap if possible Set in the VM)

cd ~/
wget https://ecsft.cern.ch/dist/cvmfs/cvmfs-release/cvmfs-release-latest_all.deb
sudo dpkg -i cvmfs-release-latest_all.deb
rm -f cvmfs-release-latest_all.deb
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cvmfs cvmfs-config-default
sudo cvmfs_config setup

Let's assume you want to support ATLAS and LHCb software. Create or edit /etc/cvmfs/default.local and set
CVMFS_REPOSITORIES=atlas.cern.ch,atlas-condb.cern.ch,lhcb.cern.ch,alice.cern.ch,alice-ocdb.cern.ch,grid.cern.ch,cms.cern.ch,sft.cern.ch,geant4.cern.ch,na61.cern.ch,boss.cern.ch

i suggest nano > sudo nano /etc/cvmfs/default.local

Have you ever ran a successful native app, especially from LHCb or CMS that are included in your CVMFS repository list?

At least not on this computer:

all your native Theory and ATLAS failed that you ran so far.

Are you aware that LHCb has been paused even as vbox app half a year ago:
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/forum_thread.php?id=4886&postid=37382

Are you aware that CMS doesn't even have a native app?

Reliable tips are always welcome on this board but it looks like at least this one is just a merge of snippets you copied from elsewhere or from already existing posts.
More quality please.
