so i'm trick for my BOINC Directory to other drive(macOS, so worrying for SSD), other project is well running, but LHC@Home is only problem. it's only few minute (2~4) running, and computation error is occur. so not working in LHC@home application.

and almost error is error init_data.xml not found in /var/lib/boinc/shared or login errors. idk, in my mac, /var/lib is not included boinc directory.

Hi there!

I don't know exactly if this is related to your machine, but CMS has general problems right now. See here:
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/forum_thread.php?id=4998#38576

Beside that the /var/lib directory is not located in the boinc folder, it's in the root directory of the disk.

Hope that helps...

Looks like the VirtualBox access rights are not correctly set.

On a linux system the BOINC user running vbox tasks must be a member of the vboxusers group.
The BOINC user and the vboxusers group must have access rights to the new working directory.
I'm not familiar with apple but I guess this is similar there.

The logs show that BOINC correctly creates the slots folder and copies the required files:
2019-04-20 14:47:49 (13358): Successfully copied 'init_data.xml' to the shared directory.

The real problem starts here:
2019-04-20 14:47:51 (13358): Starting VM. (boinc_35440464c196119b, slot#5)
2019-04-20 14:48:37 (13358): VM failed to start.

As djoser already mentioned CMS has some problems ATM that may not be solved before mid of next week.
Hence you may try only Theory and ATLAS.

Thanks you Guys, but still problem in Theory / ATLAS. this message is always displayed and computation error occur.

and i change to VirtualBox Version to 5, it's same display and errors. so idk solve to this problems. and my vboxheadless is running my account, and not only working boinc_master, boinc_project. not vboxusers.

Beside that the /var/lib directory is not located in the boinc folder, it's in the root directory of the disk.

- thanks for advise, but in macOS newest version, /private/var (in Unix's /var) is protected by macOS, so i not modified for this. (if turn off thie rootless, modifiable, but not recommand things)
