LHC@home

The LHC@home BOINC servers will be upgraded to the latest BOINC server release Tuesday morning at 8AM GMT. BOINC services like upload/download and task validation and assimilation will be paused for about 1 hour during the intervention to update our servers.

What is the function of this checkbox and what are the effects of not putting the X in this box?

Looks like the stats export (all users) didn't work yesterday although I permitted mine at the preferences page.

When you attach a new host or create a new account you'll have to accept the terms-of-use (TOU).
This is documented at the preferences page.

If you uncheck the box and log out from the webpage you'll have to accept the TOU again at your next login.

I didn't test if my hosts get work while the box is unchecked.

No "stats export" checkbox on mine, just dashes. So presumably no export either.
If I hover the mouse over the dashes, the "pop up" message appears OK.

The dev project preferences page is is OK.

So, all the stats aggregation websites will only be showing active LHC members and so all non-active members contributions will no longer be included in each teams totals?

That is going to affect many teams rankings in both the project stats as well as the overall Team/Country stats?

That is in accordance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
Only users actively agreed by ticking the consent box or during logging in given their permission, should be exported.
Exporting user-data without their permission for the purpose of statistic sites would break the GDPR.
In my opinion the team statistics are not affected.
Thats means that the team total on a statistic site, lets say for today, is not equal to the sum of the members, cause several members did not agree (yet), but their contribution is counted in the team total.
The same was happening with members moving on to another team or quitting from a team.

On the project site itself those users are still visible, cause they are a member, but their data is not available for third parties.

The stats are back on the BOINCStats website today.

I just stumbled upon this new option, while missing 313k Credits. Why was there no boinc message from the lhc team?

I agree, I got the message about a server upgrade, but there was no hint for the gpdr setting....

The stats are back on the BOINCStats website today.

And total 217 users are shown to have credits.
