I'm a little confused about why old computers would not be able to merge with newer ones despite the differences in CPU's or OS. Do the results from older computers still show on the User Total credits even though they are no longer active?

The section "Cafe LHC" may not be checked by the real experts as often as "Number crunching" or the application's sections.
Thus you may repeat your question there and include links to the computer pages you plan to merge.

Hi David,
Computers can only be merged if the system sees them as being identical. A RAM upgrade shouldn't be a problem but if there is a change of CPU or OS then the system will see it as a different host so it will not be possible to merge it with its former ID. If you no longer have a particular computer and wish it to no longer be shown on your account, you can delete it. All credits it has earned will still be included in your grand total.
