Is anybody at CERN aware of that?

once more, the "unsent" tasks queue seems to dry out. At this moment, there are only 37 tasks shown in the Project Status Page.

since yesterday, most of the time no Theory tasks are available.
And those few that can be downloades, don't get jobs.

What's going on?

Currently, only ATLAS tasks are available, no other ones. LHC falling apart?

Well, Erich, you found the right words once again.

Therory tasks are finally at 0 and noone from CERN seems to care.

At first no Sixtrack for a long time, then the recall of CMS, followed by LHCb, now Theory. I'm curious when Atlas will die...

I don't understand why we do not get any information as to what's happening at LHC@home. Such a situation is very sad, indeed. It seems that they don't appreciate our contribution at all.

What concerns the current Theory tasks: once in a while some are available now, but many of then error out lacking jobs.
Something really seems to go rather wrong over there :-(

At this point, the server status page shows only 53 Theory tasks left for download.

Is the queue drying out?

The queue has dried out again - is the team aware of this?

from what I noticed only now, there were some tasks that errored out with "no subtasks".
So probably the absence of new tasks is showing the automatism which was introduced some time ago: no new tasks being distributed once there are no subtasks (jobs) available.

Been fine last days except for today for today. Most task idle and some running halftime. Last hours it been a mix on events shared to hosts as i seen a host go from 50% to 10% then up to 100% then drop back to 50%.

It is now stable at 50% in cpu load and keep few task running while i set no new task as the server seems to be busy and i would wait until it recover back. Jobs queues are at 0 and would need a kick to increase the demands to get back to normal stage.

Project admins would be aware of this as they would monitor the status on servers frequently but they may not reach out to boinc page each time. There is a a lot done outside boinc and issues would be take care of when they are available. This could be a mix of issues of in rates of jobs out and network.

It would be up to them if need to share the info into it but most task is now idle with python script as only usage to task is not good to keep the users that contribute to project.

They would would probably deal with as soon as they can and i would wait and focus on others in meantime.

Yes. The server that distributes the sub tasks had a problem and the protection automatically kicked in to stop new BOINC tasks being sent out. Everything should be back to normal.

Everything should be back to normal.
Laurence, I don't think so. There are still no new tasks available for download; and the tasks still running on my computers seem not to get any jobs..

Although the Server Status page shows 197 tasks available for download, none of my machines can download any.
BOINC says "no tasks available for Theory simulation".

BTW: same is true for CMS.

What's going on?

Please check that you enabled option "run test applications" in project settings. I have enabled it and got some tasks. I also enabled ATLAS and sixtracktest apps, but this should not have any effect here.

3/19/2019 6:18:28 PM | LHC@home | This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress

Mine are set for 8 tasks but now even with what we have on the server page I can only have the 4 that are running.

I guess I will find out later when some of these are finished and sent back.

(I am in the middle of doing an unwanted reboot already described over at -dev)

You can set your web settings to no limits, for the time being this will enable more tasks at the cost of higher memory usage, CERN has been notified for investigation
