Hi all,

The migration to new backend storage is planned for Thursday 22 March. Because this is a completely new setup we have to drain all ATLAS tasks. As of now no new ATLAS tasks will be submitted to allow remaining tasks to complete within the one week deadline. After the migration we should hopefully be able to remove the current limits on ATLAS tasks so that there is always work in the queue for our hungry crunchers!

The migration has been postponed until Monday 26 March, so I will submit a few more WU today.

Shortly after a download starts, it breaks off - and on the webpage, under "status", it says "error while downloading". Why so?

I have downloaded six with no problems, and three of them have been running for the last six hours.
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/results.php?hostid=10502606&offset=0&show_names=0&state=0&appid=14

It could be a local/ISP problem.

As the change of the storage back-end on your BOINC servers has obviously been completed a few hours ago, the question now is:
when will new ATLAS tasks be available for download again?

With Linux-native App got one task. Seem a longrunner (36 Hours).

Edit: In the moment 4% progress in 1.5 hours!

There are a small number of tasks being submitted at the moment to see if everything works ok. If all goes well we can increase the supply of WU.

Please let us know of any problems you see.

I just downloaded 2 ATLAS tasks (although, according to the Project Status Page, none should be available).
And what I noticed was that the download speed is only about a fourth compared to what it was before. Why so?

Also, the ATLAS job page
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/ATLAS/atlas_job.php
is not working - "404 Not Found"

maybe you have the "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" option checked?

Download performance seems to be rather poor.

I got a 424 MB package that started around 250 kB/s for 2 minutes, dropped to nearly 0, had a short peak close to 5 MB/s and finished after 12 minutes with an average around 550 kB/s which represents roughly 10% of my DSL speed.

When will ATLAS tasks finally be available for download?
Presently, the Project Status Page shows 198 "unsent", but for hours I have not been able to download any.

Better some WU than many WU ;-)

What I still don't understand though: the number of "unsent" tasks in the Project Status Page is going up (it's 245 right now, in contrast to 198 as 1 hour ago) - and still I cannot download any. BOINC keeps saying "no tasks are available for ATLAS Simulation" -

something seems to go wrong :-(

Just a bit of patience, Erich.
Time will come to even saturate your brand new quantum computer farm with ATLAS tasks.
