Message 34008 - Posted: 21 Jan 2018, 10:57:57 UTC

I am noticing a peak in results that are either marked "Validation inconclusive" or "Validate error" for my system and different wing-systems. Over the past weeks I have been monitoring 2 such tasks, today there were 3 more. In the past some errors were attributed to my system, some to the other system.

I am not aware of an error. The logs are clean. Run times are plausible.

A) Is this in any way connected to recent upload issues?

B) Does this indicate a stability issue on my side?

How should I proceed?

Yes, I sure have seen that too!

Until yesterday I've crunched well over 1000 tasks, and this without one single "invalid" or "Validation inconclusive"! :-)
And now, when I woke up this morning, I found that I've reached 17 Invalids, and have 6 more tasks in "Validation inconclusive"!!! :-(

These faults seems to be rather evenly spread between nearly all of my 14 computers, so this is NOT one single machine that got weird.
I've also noticed a new peak in problem with uploading tasks - sigh.

Maybe the databases need a thorough clean-up, and the servers a good old fashioned reboot! ;-)

... How should I proceed?

You may provide links to the relevant WUs and also make your computers visible in your LHC@home preferences.
This would make it easier or even possible to help you.

here it always says "project servers may be temporarily down". Which might mean that someone out there is working on it, or the whole system broke down.

Maybe the databases need a thorough clean-up, and the servers a good old fashioned reboot! ;-)

well, given the fact that all kinds of problems startet already Mid-December, I am wonderung why still so many WUs are pumped into the mills, although they should know better by know.
To me, by now, much seems to be rather dis-organised :-(

Some exemplary WUs were provided by Gunnar (Thanks!).

The log is, as I said, clean. If you need specific information or need me to run some tests, I'll be glad to comply with requests.

I fear that those results were affected by some upload issues (not necessarily due to the NFS hiccups of last weeks), as they appear to be of zero size in the upload area.
Indeed, the validator tried to parse them to proceed with validation, and not a single line or number was found, immediately marking them with "validation error".
I am terribly sorry for that, as we talk about a good bunch of hours of crunching results
