Nils' answer: Thanks Nils, It has been down over 24 hours for me and that was after my own server being down for over 48 hours so I have lots of finished tasks and lots running now but just in case I loaded up with some LHC Theory here and also doing that new vdi d/l since it takes a few hours to do that on my DSL even now at 7:30am And I will be off to the doctor appointment for about 8 hours so I can't let them start new tasks since in the early afternoon here my DSL is so slow I can't start a LHC task and have to watch them in order to start one at a time on my several 8-core machines. While I am here I have been wondering if we can update that start time here to 20 minutes like I had done at vLHC-dev a couple weeks ago since that give tasks a better chance to get started by that contact with the Condor. (and also making these tasks able to run on multi-core like we do over there since even running tasks X2-cores helps on the 8-core pc's and even more would be nice such as X4-core tasks here with Theory since I have run thousands over at vLHC-dev) Thanks to you all for the fast reply (surprised me for sure) Volunteer Mad Scientist For Life |

(lol just my luck I type another post and then it tells me this server is down so one more try....) I did check a couple other regulars here and see one that also uses Windows 10 OS is getting Theory tasks to run X2-cores tasks.......mine are all set to do that just like the thousands of them I have run over at vLHC-dev but it still always makes mine run single core tasks. Why do you suppose that is happening? |

https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/ Oh, I hate it when that happens -- probably no more than you, but I've seen it so many times in the last 45 years. :-( |

https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/ Well Ivan, 9 hours later and the server is back up and running so I got to send in the finished tasks and reload and keep them all working a few minutes after midnight PDT the server started while I was making a couple tries to make contact again. Back to work.......and even sleep without thinking about this Volunteer Mad Scientist For Life |
