No response to my incident report yet. cmsweb-testbed.cern.ch appears to be ailing.
hello Ivan, any idea when CMS will be alive again?

Not yet. We've identified the problem that's causing the glitch, but have yet to hear from the individual responsible for rectifying it as to whether he has fixed it. Workflows remain stuck in the work-chain, not progressing to the next level (e.g. from "assigned" to "running"). I'll submit another new WF, more in despair than hope...

OK, I managed to find someone to revert the changes, so our workflows are progressing again. A new one is now "staging", it should be "running" and producing jobs again in about an hour or so. Thanks for your patience.

Yep, it took a little while to filter through all the stages, but we are running again now.

Just a heads-up that we want to update our WMAgent, so I'm not injecting any more workflows for the moment. We'll probably run out of jobs in about 12-14 hours, but we'll need to wait some time for most of the "stragglers" to trickle in. I'm hoping we may be up again tomorrow night, but it may take until Wednesday. Please take whatever actions you think appropriate.

OK, we ran out of jobs a little earlier than expected, so you can set your machines not to ask for tasks for the present. It'll take another couple of hours for most of the running jobs to finish, so I'll get in touch with the WMCore people and they can start the upgrade when we are down to just the stragglers.

I've just left mine asking for tasks, I assume it does no harm, my computer won't cry when your server says no. I've stuck Cosmology on as a backup, although I assume I'll still get Theory tasks?

Probably no harm, the task queuer has noticed no jobs are available and hasn't set up any new tasks.

Mine were set to any type of work anyway, and got CMS because your server prioritizes them. So they'll now get Theory for a bit. It'll give my uplink a rest, poor thing runs flat out at 7Mbit 24/7 when I have CMS on.

Yes Ivan, it's no harm,
When WCG have a problem, the message is: "Server feeder not running"

Intervention is over, and a new workflow injected. It's currently in "assigned" state. It will take an hour or so for it to transition to running, and up to another hour for the BOINC server to notice jobs are available and start queueing tasks again. Good luck!

Sorry, I spent all Monday+night lying unconscious on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood, having fallen and head-butted a totally innocent kitchen cabinet. The rest of the week is hazy, but on Thursday a neighbour called the ambulance who took me to A&E at the local hospital. Scans showed a large bleed on my brain. I've been kept in for observation, pending a possible operation in 2-4 weeks.
I now have my laptop and tablet with me so I should be able to restart job submissions, with the caveat that I am still slightly confused at times.

Health is more important than LHC@home.
Take care and take the time it needs to recover.

Wow, amazing how unexpected things can happen.

Relax, let the doctors take care of you, sort LHC out when you're feeling normal again. We can always do Theory or another project for now.

Of course if doing LHC keeps your mind occupied then by all means have a go. But ask the doctor if you should be "exerting" your brain.
