The lhcathomeclassic URL is the old one but is still active for backwards compatibility reasons.

Message 29042 - Posted: 3 Mar 2017, 12:35:30 UTC

Hello Laurence,

although my question is not related to the current project merger, I think it belongs here.

I am still attached, at one of my computers, to a project called Beauty@LHC (the link is no longer active, but it shows it used to be http://lhcbathome.cern.ch/Beauty/).

My question is - has that been fully merged as well? Are my 10275 credits, that it still shows, already counted within the LHCb here or at vlhcathome-dev? I have not found any discussion related to that so I just want to make sure it was all done and I can remove Beauty@LHC from my comp.

Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for this wonderful job of merging projects. That's a very good idea and an impressive work.

Just say the truth, are You trolling here?
Everyone (thousands of BOINC volunteers worldwide), who at least touched LHC@home, have now disturbed and damaged statistic...
This is not wonderful job, this is true pornography!
Sorry for brutal tone (I hope, nobody will be insulted personally)...

Even if there are some problems, kind words are a way to thank and to encourage project admins. You can't deny that merging projects requires a lot of work.
Have a nice week-end.

The Beauty@LHC project was a pilot for users in the LHCb collaboration before the LHCb application was deployed on vLHCathome last year. I am afraid the credit on the project is lost.

The server is no longer available, so you can safely remove the project.

Please make sure that the LHCb application is selected to continue to crunch LHCb tasks here.

Thanks again for your contributions!

Sorry to hijack the thread a little, but, since Nils brought it up... ;-)

As well as selecting "Run test applications", correct?

Yes, see Applications on the left side (beta test), same for Atlas.

The per_app views for the statistics should now be working as pagination has been implemented.

HM, it doesn't show any credits for Atlas, but Atlas is already doing real work

So, is it okay to remove vLHC@home from our BOINC clients now or not?

YES

(and you probably know the former vLHC URL brings you here now)

Maybe I misunderstand your concern, but I don't think that would be something caused by the credit migration at the LHC@home project.

Are you sure your "LHC@home 1.0" hours at WUProp haven't been moved into your hours for "LHC@home"? At some point, the admin at WUProp merged the two. I haven't had any "LHC@home 1.0" hours for quite awhile and I don't think I lost any hours.

We have deployed a new validator for Atlas now, so finally the ATLAS credit should start to appear in the per_app view as well.

When I click on Atlas "Total" or "Average" the result is showing nothing

Yes I am sure. Both projects were close to WUProp. But what is it, it's about more important things :)

It looks like my Atlas stats have not made it here yet.

I only ran those tasks the first 2 years as it got started and then switched over to some test tasks for other Cern alpha's

I do only have 485,372 Total credit there.

I just took a late night look over there and see Atlas still has 3369 Tasks in progress.....never can tell how long that will take.

BUT I did forget how we just did this with vLHC

No big deal (I wonder if vLHC-dev will do the same thing one of these days)

Do I read every post?......Nope

Edit: Btw Yeti, if you want to see something funny check all my hosts *Details* and look at the *Upload and Download* numbers (yeah I checked yours)

Thats what you get when you live here on the edge of a National Park on your own private 5+ acres where you can look out the windows and see only trees

(and I only live about 40 miles "the way the crow flies" from the Microsoft head office)
