Project-Server say no tasks for Theory.any indication as to when tasks will be available again? It's just been fixed - the problem was due to an error while upgrading a server at CERN. |

https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/server_status.php Still nothing. I know about an hour ago this site was down so it must have been something to do with the server update Ben mentions. I had hundreds of Sixtracks trying to get sent back but the server was down (in the Event Log) But that is working again but no Theory tasks or CMS (but been getting more Sixtracks than expected today) |

But that is working again but no Theory tasks or CMSCMS tasks are available meanwhile. |

Project-Server say no tasks for Theory. I was getting Theory tasks right up until the moment I started running Atlas tasks on 8 threads. Now boinc is telling me I "don't need" any new tasks every time it asks for new tasks. The server status says there are over 4000 Theory tasks waiting to be sent out. |

Project-Server say no tasks for Theory. The server hands out tasks but ATM there seem to be far too much requests. Looks like lots of "zombie" computers without a local CVMFS client request hundreds of task just to fail them immediately. It will take a while until the project server automatically rates them down. To all volunteers running Theory/ATLAS native on Linux: Having a local CVMFS client installed and correctly configured is a MUST for those tasks for years. Check your logfiles for errors like this and either install/configure CVMFS or disable "Run native ..." in your preferences. 01:42:07 EST -05:00 2023-12-12: cranky-0.1.4: [INFO] This application must have permanent access to 01:42:07 EST -05:00 2023-12-12: cranky-0.1.4: [INFO] online repositories via a local CVMFS service. . . . 01:42:07 EST -05:00 2023-12-12: cranky-0.1.4: [ERROR] Can't find 'cvmfs_config'. 01:42:07 EST -05:00 2023-12-12: cranky-0.1.4: [ERROR] This usually means a local CVMFS client is not installed 01:42:07 EST -05:00 2023-12-12: cranky-0.1.4: [ERROR] although it is a MUST to get data from online repositories. |

Due to lack of CMS tasks since last night, I intended to crunch Theory instead. However, on all of my computers, when trying to download Theory tasks, the BOINC event log says "no tasks available for Theory". The project status page shows nearly 5000 unsent tasks. Any idea what kind of problem I am experiencing ? |

many thanks for this valuable hint :-)Any idea what kind of problem I am experiencing ?Do you use a seperate home, school or work preference and ticked 'native'? Indeed, I had ticked "native" about a week ago when I tried to run Theory on Linux which I had installed in a Virtual Box on one of my PCs (however, it did not work since several additonal files were missing, according to the stderr of the few failed tasks [e.g.: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=404640160]) Anyway, I now unchecked "native", and Theory tasks for Windows were downloaded right away. |
