The last 24 hours there has not been much luck getting these tasks and all 7 of mine are always set to get them. I got some on one earlier today but since then nothing and the server just says 100 all the time. So as always......I let them all run just vLHC Theory tasks. This also includes the X86 32bit version wth am I doing up at 4:43am? Volunteer Mad Scientist For Life

Trying to get new work here since it is around midnight and that is when I have a isp that will let me get all 7 computers full and running until tomorrow. I think the task generator always tries to keep the R2S at 100, I have seen it 9x sometimes. Could you increase the work buffers? |

Not getting tasks from the desired type is due to scheduler problems and is under investigation. It also happens with SixTrack tasks although there are massive in queue. |

The server still says it has 58524 Theory tasks but I can't get any here. All I can get are those short SixTracks once in a while but not the number of tasks mine are set to get........I always have a second batch loaded and ready and now I don't......so if the Theory tasks don't start appearing from here they will just go back to the vLHC-dev version and I will check back here once in a while to see if things come back to life. As can be seen from the Project Status Page, there are no new Theory tasks for download (which is true for ATLAS and LHCb also). I guess the refill will not happen until the CERN people are back from vacation o/a January 8, 2018. |

Re-using an old thread here. No tasks are available for Theory according to Server status page and none has been downloaded either since this afternoon.

any idea when task will be available again? Well I am getting some irregularly but not with every request. They seem to be resents with _1 and _2 in the end. So not new tasks. Unfortunately one host doesn't have enough memory to go completely to Atlas and the other host doesn't get enough Atlas (only max 8 at a time despite I have set 'No limit' for task numbers). I allowed to accept other tasks if Atlas & Theory are not available and got swamped with CMS tasks.

New tasks are now available but job graphs are still going down. Anyway the new tasks seem to be crunching events.

The problem has just been fixed with the MCPlots server. In answer to an email, Anton replied: “ It is fixed now, thanks for the pointer! The problem was a bug in a free disk space check which was added recently.†Greetings to all, Ben |

I keep getting the message that there are no tasks available for Theory. The server status, however, says that there are lots of WUs available. Are there some sort of minimum specs that my computer no longer meets or something else? |

There are lots of CMS tasks in your task list but not a single Theory task. CMS has drained the queue to prepare a software upgrade on one of their servers. If you want to run Theory you may check your preferences: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/prefs.php?subset=project "Run native if available?" must be disabled if your computer runs Windows. |
