With the Euro and bank problems, how is the funding for CERN holding out?

Hello everybody :)

Looking at the OP I wonder if the thread will ever find a winner. But since there's about one post per month, it will be eons before the database collapses under the weight, if ever.

It would feel reassuring regarding the possibility of ever ending this game if mikey participated in it (not necessarily as the creator/gamemaster, but as a player too)

Was trying to speed up the floating points, but something went wrong in the translation.

Morning all. Here is my last post effort.

I have been struck by the Skinnerian responses of frustrated BOINC participants, eagerly awaiting delayed WUs and anxious to get on with their number crunching. The parallel with addict behaviour is obvious. Similarly, the motivation of the aspiring big players in each BOINC project, running "Deep Thought" in their basements, merits further investigation. Are we are a point where the focus of all BOINC products should be Mass Observation of human behaviour? What do you mean "It always was"? Is it true that BOINC is actually an alien research project on us humans?

Happy New Year.

Great observation.
The main point of getting involved in alien-sponsored BOINC projects is "sense of involvement" in something big: science or big life as is.

As many people watching pop-stars news or big politics they feel frustrated as they don't take part in anything except their families and might be businness.

And now you have a tool to get fundamental partical research just for free!

Whoo-hoo!

So any detachment from this might be considered as decline in participation.

And yes, the biggest crunchers get alien-sponsored excursion to planet of choice. I'm in!
