After the latest database overload occurred my daily limit went to 25 from 50( which as has been stated doesn't keep HT machines happy. 2 of my HT machines were trying to collect its daily quota when this occurred. Does everyone have thier quota reset at same time? Is this what is causing the overload? The 1st few days of this 200k+ my machines were crunching,uploading,and downloading 2 at a time in an orderly fashion and I saw no database overloads occurring . Then when the nasty (hehe) quotas came along we have overload. Could the LHC project be victim of its own policies? |

I don't think the Server has a clue to whats it's doing, I can get 100 WU's on 1 PC & 36 on another PC then 50 on the next PC & then 80 on the next & so on & they all will say I've Exceeded my Daily Quota ... |

Today I got also only 20 WUs, then I have the "Message from server: No work available (daily quota exceeded)". |

The daily quota number is assigned by PC. Not by the account. So, it is possible that the machines do have different numbers. |

That is what I have in my log from my dual-machine: 00:51 Sending Request+Downloads xx:xx Finished+Uploads 02:49 Quota exceeded xx:xx Finished+Uploads 07:58 Ready with all WUs -> No WUs for the rest of the day, 16 hours free :-/ <a href="http://lhcathome.cern.ch/team_display.php?teamid=478"> <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/lhc/stats.php?userID=294"></a> |

Host # 22642 has received 40 units today and is being told it has exceeded daily quota. It appears the increase has had no effect. This host averages 85-100 results a day and will probably run out of work tommorrow for LHC unless it truly starts getting 100 a day as it only has 60 left in cache. It appears the bug is still present at the server side. |

> Interesting. Either a) I'm wrong b) we are using too old version of the > scheduler or c)Einstein project has done custom modifications. > > Guess I need to find out which:) Case b) applies. Current CVS version of BOINC scheduler scales the quota according to number of CPUs but scheduler currently in use does not. However, we are testing new versions on the alpha site. But it is indeed strange that the server has assigned that many results (100 is the current maximum) and why you have seen that few. Investigations continue... ADD: From the logs I see that there were many database errors while the results were assigned to you. The database actually crashed today for some unknown reason (first time in LHC@home history) but fortunately a recovery was successful. While database was sick many database updates failed and this can be now seen as abnormal behaviour. I set nresults_today for host #22642 to 40. Happy crunching. Markku Degerholm LHC@home admin |

Yesterday in the morning I got 3 WUs on my computer 21404. After that until this morning, there was the message "Project is down" and "Server can't open database". Because my other computers could sent results and got new WUs, I restartet Boinc on 21404. And then I got the message "daily quota exceed". Looking in my account on lhc I saw, that since yesterday more than 250 WUs are sent to my computer. But here are only 3. Where is the rest? wolmic |

Is this a problem? What can be done in this case? I've got >1000 pending creds and my RAC didn't move since this time. <a href="http://lhcathome.cern.ch/team_display.php?teamid=478"> <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/lhc/stats.php?userID=294"></a> |

Just keep working and it will all come out in the wash. With SETI@Home off-line I think some of us were pulling more here and that will just mean a "spike" in numbers later on this week. Personally I am more worrieed about the dropping work available numbers ... Life was good for awhile. |
