Hi, I am running Linux (Ubuntu currentdist) on a 3.6 GHZ 24GB Intel (6X) Core i7-980X through a \\\"high-speed\\\" ADSL line and I am only getting the deferred communication statement and no project initialization.
I do not have any hardware routers and run BOINC without any software firewalls running.
Why would this occur continually?

I think there are no Linux applications, only Windows.

I'm also having issues with my LHC@Home session not being able to communicate with the scheduler - getting recurrent "Communication deferred" messages when I update. Has been going on for weeks, but my other projects (Einstein@Home, MilkyWay@Home and Rosetta@Home) are all functioning fine.

Any help for a rookie?!

Thanks,
SK

Try looking at the Boinc Mgr log (Ctrl + Shift + E) for any additional hints as to why.

Seeing your computers and any returned results may help us see problems. If you don't want to do that, exit Boinc completely, restart it, update LHC and then post your log entry within CODE tags in the forum. We might be able to see some info then.

You can try a project reset for LHC. Set No New Tasks, abort any outstanding LHC tasks and do the reset for this project.
