Hello - the new version of BOINC is nearly out - I am using the beta 5.2.1 at the moment. I'd like to add LHC to my crunching at some point but the website seems to only work with the 4 series - could you say when the site will be upgraded to allow password and e-mail access, which will support the new series, and possibly allow me to use LHC as a screen saver - the graphics are simply stunning, but I can only see 'em when I choose to see graphics.

Thanks - Gray

Hello

I am running Windows XP service pack 2 with all updates, including the latest version of DirectX 9. I have 768 megs RAM and an nVidia FX500 with 256 megs RAM onboard (not the latest and greatest, but not a total loss as a video card. The graphic shows perfectly when manually requested to do so, but will not run automatically in "screensaver" mode. Your systems will show that I am not running LHC at the moment, but my comments are still relevant as my hardware is unchanged - I was back here to check if a newer version of the program has been released to solve this problem. The admins have my e-mail address if any further info might be of use.

Well the title says it all really - I have the latest nVidia drivers (just downloaded tonight) for my Windows XP service pack 2 system, with a reasonable nVidia FX 5500 video card, plenty of RAM (768) and a decent 2.6 Mhz Pentium 4 processor. The system is stable in every respect, but I cannot get more than the count-down of the performance measuring prior to showing the actual graphics when I attempt to do so in screensaver mode.

I have no issues when I ask for the graphics to be show from inside the program, however - and in fact I had to choose between SETI@home and LHC@home: the superior graphics of LHC are what convinced me to change over - SETI's graphics are purely appalling by comparison ! (and this after many years of crunching SETI classic...
