1) Questions and Answers : Windows : Detach From Project (Message 18898)

1. I cannot detach using GRID Repblic,
2. I set my resource share to "very low" a month ago.

Therefore, the only solution seems to be is to hit abort every time the project downloads a work unit.

I would suggest setting your resource share very low. That way you will not be doing any LHC work until you can detach.

You must detach using GRID republic, try their support services. If you detach locally the host will just reattach the next time it contacts GRID republic.

Since I can't "detach" from this project via BOINC;

Since I can't "detach" from this project via GRID Republic; or using any other known method, by me;

Please provide me precise instructions for detaching from this project!
3) Questions and Answers : Windows : Not Allowed to Manage Project; How Do I Detach From LHC@Home? (Message 18859)

Post:
a) What do you mean you can't manage it? i.e. you can't decide when you get work? that is not an LHC@home thing that is whatever client you use to run BOINC.
b) If you are using GridRepublic and that "is the only way to detach from LHC@home" (who told you that?) the it is a Gridrepublic issue.

Maybe some volunteers on here use GridRepublic and can help you but I just use the BOINC manager and if I need to detach a project I just tell it to detach

I can NOT detach from the project using BOINC. The button for Detach is not highlighted. What's more I'm still getting work units though I've indicated that I still do not want work. That is what I mean when I say that I can't manage it; which also means I can not suspend it either, using BOINC.

If GridRepublic is the only place that I can detach from LHC@Home; WHERE on GridRepublic do I detach from your Project? Whenever I try to "Won't Get New Tasks" using BOINC, I get new tasks anyway. I rather detach from the project if I'm not allowed to manage it!

If you use GridRepublic, you have to detach your projects from GridRepublic, not from the Detach button on the manager.
