What to think about that: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/workunit.php?wuid=171155568 Two linux hosts running AVX tasks. Run times for i5 host have been about dozen seconds but there's one task that run for 1300 sec. That variation looks 'natural' to me. Tasks have validated succesfully. Run times for i7 host have been 1 or 2 sec (in about thousand tasks I saw one that run for 3 sec). That such a constant speed looks a bit 'unnatural' to me. From 3000 sixtrack tasks that host got then 1500 validation inconclusives and 100 invalids and 0 valids so far. 1500 waiting for validation. Why is that ? Is something incompatible and boinc doesn't recognize that ? Would some mechanism need betterment ? |

CMS, Theory and ATLAS Simulation tasks need virtualization to be enabled. But do you have some kind of Linux virtualization environment running ? if you wanted to run those tasks strictly in Windows (tasks for a Windows host) then I believe it would require you to enable CPU virtualization (VT-x) in BIOS/UEFI settings. Looks like it is not enabled at the moment. Maybe you'll also need to disable every other virtualization environment from existing at the same time. |

Posted 4 Sep 2021 by Richie_unstable Post: I look at "Projects in which you are participating" and I see correct credits for this regular LHC@home project but at the same time exactly identical numbers for the dev project. Is that feature working as planned ? Those credit numbers are correct for LHC@home but for CERN CMS-dev they are wrong. I joined this LHC@home project in Oct 2018. The dev project I joined in Aug 2021. Somehow also the line for dev project shows Oct 2018. "Total credit", "Average credit" and "Since"... they all show stats of my LHC@home account. The actual dev project site https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/home.php shows correct info and stats for me there under "Account information" and "Computing" but under "Projects in which you are participating" the numbers there are wrong too (they show my LHC@home credits again). What to think about that ? |

Now it looks like it never was doing anything but I saw it started up normally and begun crunching normally. I noticed it was gone some time ago already, but wanted to see if a miracle recovery would happen. |

HITS files produced. Alles gut, funziona perfettamente. Win 11 is "just a new UI" that Boinc thinks is a Windows 10 build at this point. |

He just kindly asked A) "Is this planned" - which could well be the situation and in that case it would be interesting for users to know that. Not that we demand to know. B) "is there a problem with task generation?" - which is not an impossible scenario. Then it would also be interesting to read about that. Nobody demanding anything. |

I fired up two old 64bit Xeon systems (they do not have AVX support).
