5.10.28 is working a treat and has worked a treat since day one for me. Just remember to ensure BOINC is completely shutdown before installing. When upgrading from a very old BOINC version, you may just need to uninstall BOINC first. The uninstall and install process does not remove directories or blow any work away.

Didn't have any trouble at all downloading, didn't have to shut my manager down or anything and didn't notice any difference between 5.10.20 and 5.10.28 until the BOINC logo came up on the screen saver.... its huge! other that, it works great.

I've got 3 windows machines all running 5.10.20 and not a problem yet. The only thing is you have to completely shut your old manager down before installing it no matter what version your upgrading from. I think I'll stick with what I've got.

Now thats interesting.... you consider this project a charity.... personally I consider it an opportunity to help on a project that may help ALL mankind....

u'r worried about respect but u show NONE!

Dago........ for the last time......... ARE YOU GOING TO BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, OR ARE YOU GOING TO BE PART OF THE PROBLEM?

DUH... IS THAT A TOUGH ONE?

since u have all this knowledge of BOINC/LHC I'D like to see you on the solution team!!

co'mon now lets see what you can do!..... I'm expecting GREAT THINGS!!!

Seems to me everyone should "stand back" and let Alex and Neason do their job without interference, and while constructive criticism is helpful it seems that all this arguing is counterproductive. considering what they inherited I think they're doing a great job and yes the server needs to be updated. NOW I'm sure their painfully aware of that. I guess it comes down to this, who's gonna be part of the problem and who's gonna be part of the solution? if their not getting it done as fast as you think they should then give them a hand instead of creating more headaches for them.
Just my two cents

Bit of a Boomtown Rats fan(I'm Irish, could you guess?) rather than Floyd so know a bit about Mr Geldof's career (his autobiography is very good too).

@ Neasan... I thought you were gonna open the gates a little once you got your new folk interested in the project. I'm not saying all the way, but at least 8 per. With all these WU's coming up as failed (only running for 2 or 3 mins.or less) I'd like the chance to do a little more.

The meaning to that song has pestered me for years. I still don't know for sure but I'm thinking either Einstein or Bohr.

6 track is the science application that crunches the work units, an entirely different critter than the server. You didn't really think they would go backwards, did you?

I don't know.... u tell me, u seem to know EVERYTHING else!
I asked for an informative answer.... not criticism!

I asked a REAL question, can you give me a REAL answer?

We will look into trying to sort it so maybe it's a one job in, one job out situation i.e. as long as you are grinding through the jobs you can get another as soon as you send back the last.

One in, one out, would seem to be the way to go except for dial up folk,( I'm on 24-7 so it doesn't apply) don't know how u'r make everyone happy! unless you set up a 1 Day cache for everyone, depending on what their box's can kick out per client. Just gotta do whats best for the project in the long run!
