Communication deferred

Posted 11 Jul 2006 by Christian K Post: It should not have gone to a one week backoff unless it had 4 consecutive failures getting the master file list. And that usually only happens when the servers are unavailable for an extended period of time. Normal deferrals should not go more than a few hours. I think you may have had problems on your end because as far as i can tell from my logs, the LHC servers have not been down lately. Thanks for the information. I just deleted the project and tried to connect again, but I get a message saying the project is temporarily unavailable. :( I can't connect |

While that idea isn't bad, I don't think it is ok. With the current setup it is very likely that my client will never get any work. When LHC has work the workunits are gone very fast, in under 167 hours. So if I'm not lucky and retry communication exactly when LHC has new work units, I will always be without. |

Posted 10 Jul 2006 by Christian K Post: Hi, how do I turn off the communication deferred stuff? Currently the LHC communication is deferred by 167:59:10 And the number will increase rather then should there be no work avaialbale in 167 hours and 59 minutes. :( Any suggestions? Thanks, Christian |

I'm trying very hard to think of possible reasons why it should be so easy to collect so many valid e-mail addresses, but the only reason I can think of is to send spam e-mail. Please don't make it too easy to collect e-mail addresses. Christian |
