101) Message boards : Number crunching : cpu time ok... but zero credits granted (Message 6157)

Seems like they've fixed the total credit issue, as I've gone up almost 1000 cobblestones over the last couple of days.... :)

Regardless, the Science was unaffected and it's been a real joy to have the LHC project come back to life again.

Markku:

Thank you for your prompt attention to this. Now the science benefits by my systems having some additional work to do which is all that should EVER MATTER....right?

Unlike some others who post here, the Science is the MOST important thing to me, and Particle Physics is especially interesting to me.

Ageless:

Have you had too much coffee today, or lack a sense of humor?? :p

Ahhh you must not understand what :p means...

I am willing to overlook your rant and start over with you before you make this personal between us.

Hello Ageless, my name is Logan 5 from the United States, how are you doing today? I'm fine and hope that you are doing well also.

-Isin't that a much better way to approach people then your method?......LOL

104) Message boards : Number crunching : Team/Account Creation Disabled - When to be reactivated? (Message 5901)

A short and to the point answer. I'm sure then that my waiting team mates will find other projects to fill the void. Hopefully the need you speak of will not take too long before showing.

Any particular project the LHC admins recommend while theirs is closed to the public??

> We will enable account creation when we both need and can handle more users.

Now that the LHC Project seems to be awakening, when exactly will the new account signups be reactivated?

EDIT: I had no idea this was/is still a Closed Beta after all the months of downtime. I will stop recommending LHC until I know for certain that the project has gone public to avoid any further misunderstandings about the project's status.

My apologies.

I agree is the quote even necessary any more now that the flood of returning members is subsiding....?

I have about 10GHz of firepower sitting idle waiting for LHC to give more work, so instead it's crunching...ugh....S@H just for something to do..

That's just wrong on SO many levels.... :p

They had to reduce the amount of RPC calls until the initial flood of returning users subsides... LOL Stats are likely low on their priority list ATM...

I was downloading the new 6 track overlay at a speedy 1.3 kbps....My 56k Dialup Modem does 4.1...sheesh!!

Ok....Let's try this again.

Putting aside all the Off Topic namecalling & threadcrapping that's apparently allowed to run rampant here, can ANYONE put together a coherent answer to the question of what's the "OFFICIAL" last day of the LHC Project where they transition to the new server(s) and redesign the interface model? "sometime in November or December" is really not a very accurate timeframe.

If it's already happened, it would have been nice to have some kind of notification. If it's not happened yet, it would be nice to have some kind of notification when it does....

So, is the current drought/lack of LHC Work because the project's finally moving over to their new servers/etc...?

There's been no peep on this in the official places, so we're all left just speculating and taking threads like this FAR off topic.... :/

ANY "Official" word would be appreciated on this.

Just a thought: If you're overclocking your Comp, please rollback to stock settings and run the LHC Client for a while and see if the problem recurrs...

I bet it doesn't because I had an overclocked PC that was doing the exact asme thing until I reset it back to stock config, and now it's working real stable and hasn't corrupted a WU in weeks....

111) Questions and Answers : Preferences : User Profile Picture does not add or update when uploaded to LHC Server (Message 3338)

I know that there were past issues where user profile pics were not uploading correctly, and that was supposed to be fixed, but I have loaded several trial .jpg or .png files, and they do not display on my profile page.

Can someone tell me how to get these to display?? The pics I am supplying are all within the sites guidelines if knowing that helps.....

Thanks,

I don't have an answer but since the BOINC core client has changed this last time, I have an AMD XP2400 running at stock speeds (2GHz) that every 2nd or 3rd result will give a "computation error" and abort the curent WU anywhere from .30sec to 5 or 10min into the unit....

Is this a problem with the new core (BOINC) client build or is it because the LHC Server's gone empty, that these last WU's were the 'dregs' and therefore not as good as they could be??

With no work to replace what's being sent up, at the rate I'm burning through them, I'll be out of 5 days worth of work in less than 4.....

Any ideas from the peeps in charge....or anyone for that matter??

Thanks
