21) Message boards : ATLAS application : Uploads of finished tasks not possible since last night (Message 33375)

still having upload problems ...

can't check back in a week ...

deadlines will have passed ...

running WUs under BOINC "control" is no "most advanced physics" - it is just plain IT

ATLAS is messing up my rigs ...

As it says: we use your spare time when your PC is idling ...

I just want to contribute, not do personal research ...

Excuse me for griping - just having a couple of bad days

There was an issue with overzealus spam removal. Falsely deleted accounts had to be restored. That might have pushed you back.

... nothing is pushing ME back - the finished WUs are just NOT BEING UPLOADED ...
So the retry time is climbing into many hours ...

I guess that has nothing to do with falsly deleted accounts ...

While I am griping around here, I would like add/point out, that I have plenty of own work to accomplish without having to check
if LHC is having troubles or not and to read , read, read, try, try, tray and what not to get WUs uploaded ...

Here comes the nice part:
Have a nice day !

I'm sure you are working on it ... or maybe not ???

Just to add my ten pennies:
all WU that I started a couple of hours ago on all my rigs and have finished successfully and want to upload
are now either in "project backoff" status or waiting for "retry".

Hope someone is STILL bravely working on the problem ...

Just started ATLAS on all PCs and all seems fine.

Getting a load of more or less 100% on all!

Maybe I will try Theory again - but 12 hours elapsed time and just idling ???

Some projects do impose on my nerves ...

Yes, 67 completed - but while doing so the CPU was just at a load of max 50%.

It's not about satisfaction - I just would like to use the PCs at full load to optimize time/effort/what-ever ...

Have a nice day ...

sorry, I don't understand what you are trying to tell me.

I'll try to explain a little bit further.
"VMs run smaller tasks in the VM" ????

I'm running 8 WUs (other projects) per PC at the same time on all machines (except one) - they all run/show usually 100% cpu-usage ...

I'm looking at the GFlops and compare it with earned credits.
There seems to be a big discrepancy among the different projects.

I'm not crunching for credits or badges - just curious when I seem to find unlogical (for me) "behaviours".

Maybe I'm missing out on something - or just "spoiled" from other projects?

The WUs are running several hours (i.e. Theory 12+ hours) and achieve "only" under 500 credits!

Could not find any recent discussions on this "topic".

I guess I'm the only one wondering what these WUs are actually really doing during these long time spans -- CPUs are not running anywhere near 100% - just idling around ...

Seems like a waste of time.

... you just made my day ...

Is running now.

Had to guess that "VT-x" is ment for intel virtualization.

THANKS.

We would appreciate your help:

Brandnew installation of Windows 10 Creator, BOINC Manager 7.6.33 and VBox 5.1.26. All I get is 'Error while computing'!

Would just like to crunch without problems ...

My Windows 7 PCs work fine with this project.

Have a nice day ...

I'm experiencing CMS failures/dropouts on three of my PCs after about 11 minutes run-time.

Theory Simulation is doing fine (so far - 4:30 hours of crunching).

QUESTION:
Which Version of VBox should be used?

On the download page of LHC the release to be used is stated as V5.0.18 !!
I also read (don't remeber where) NOT to use a newer version.
Whereas reading in the message boards it says to use at least V5.1 !!

ANSWER: ??
