Is it possible to inform us..
(Message 20788)
Posted 19 Nov 2008 by marshall Post: People submitting jobs are in Vancouver, New York and Geneva. We have asked for a heads up on a few occasions and they never have but jobs get gobbled up so quickly by the volunteers it isn\\\'t too much of an issue or is it because you don\\\'t get enough work from us? We have tried to limit how many jobs people get and how often they can ask to get a good spread. RSS would be fine, but it is not an issue YES please give me more work to do. this is one of the projects i find useful. so i prefere this over any other project. |

Screensaver locking up mouse

Posted 22 May 2006 by marshall Post: The latest recomended client (5.4.9) should save from this problem. It is supposed to kill the graphics thread if it is not responding, this usually aborts the workunit as well. It is not really a fix but it makes things alot easier to live with. i beleive that recomended client is still 4.45 on LHC site |

LHC official status report
(Message 4883)
Posted 4 Nov 2004 by marshall Post: Hello, thanks for the report. If there is any way to suggest anything folks, I would you to wait with closing of this project for prector being up. When you close the project the only scientific stuff will remain CPDN, which is a strange thing. I know there is seti, but seti is special. regards, |

boinc 4.09 SIGPIPE error
(Message 3489)
Posted 11 Oct 2004 by marshall Post: Hi all, i got back to work after the weekend and found most of my PC's out of work except one. The Boinc 4.09 was stopped with an error message SIGPIPE: write on a pipe with no reader Exiting.. i can easily restart the project, but it ends up after 4-5 minutes with the same error message. I also allready got over this error and made the client to continue. I susect that this error is somehow associated with poor internet line. Machine is on linux, for details see: http://lhcathome.cern.ch/show_host_detail.php?hostid=7207 Rings a bell to anybody? thanks, marshall |
