What does it mean when the Virtual machine in Virtual Box displays the following; "FATAL: Could not read from the boot medium. System halted." message? See the following screenshot; https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuUw84o3Xy6RjZIVV4ksiPWiLjP2IA
Work unit is from LHC@home (Atlas Simulation 1.01 (vbox64_mt_mcore_atlas)

Do I need to have hardware virtualization turned off in order to run Theory applications?

I have two tasks running on BOINC 7.12.1, both showing 100% complete, but one is still running and the other doesn't upload to LH/c@home. It remains in the que. Can anyone explain this behaviour?

My LHC@home preferences are not updating as they should. I've been having issues with ATLAS tasks and have deselected that project in my preferences but the tasks are still downloading to my computer.
5) Message boards : Number crunching : LHC multi-core WU take a very long time. (Message 35844)
Posted 10 Jul 2018 by David Lambert
Post:
Whenever an ATLAS multi-core WU runs, it takes a very long time to process. The current WU elapsed time is 2d 09:44:43 and shows 01:10:11 estimated time remaining. Properties for the WU show that it is processing 1.800% per hour. However, the properties for the WU also show that it has used 5d 18:26:06 CPU time. This makes no sense to me. Can someone explain the discrepancy?

The reason we run multi-core is to run a single task using multiple processors and when finished you will see CPU time for the cores added together so the CPU time will be longer than the task running time.

Try some Theory multi-core tasks since they take less ram and usually are easier to run no matter how many cores you run.

So, that would mean disabling all other projects in my preferences, correct? I can't remember the last time I saw something other than ATLAS run even though I allow all projects.

'Retry' only works on failed downloads. If the download is active, 'Retry' doesn't do anything.

My downloads are better...some still get stuck and apparently the "retry" option doesn't actual work...it just throws a "error while downloading". Uploads are starting to get through but still taking hours.

I'm a little confused about why old computers would not be able to merge with newer ones despite the differences in CPU's or OS. Do the results from older computers still show on the User Total credits even though they are no longer active?
11) Message boards : Number crunching : I'm not getting Vbox tasks anymore. (Message 34785)

I have stopped receiving VBox tasks. I have an HP Envy TS17 laptop with an Intel I7 and 16 GB memory. This machine had been running these projects until recently. Any thoughts?
