Thanks, I did go there and changed the computer name and noticed the domain name was different, but I was a bit timid to change. Not quite use to 7 yet. When I did as you suggested I noticrd that BOINC uses the domain name so I'll go change that! Thanks again!! Pick

I wasn't sure where to post, although this seemed a good place to get an answer in a short time. I rebuilt my operating sys. this weekend from XP 32bit to 7 64bit. I had to download BOINC and reattach to all the projects I run. Now the question I have is am I being limited to the # of downloads I can receive? I used to get 2-3 per core. I'm running an i7. I know that # went down when the looooog WU were issued. I haven't seen any of these since I restarted my unit. I also noticed that my computer ID # changed. I don't realy care about that but was just wondering. Ops! just checked my account for computers on my list and noticed the rebuild has a different name. Hope to be able to change that back to pick1. Not sure how to do that, advice would be appreciated. Pick

Low and behold!!!! I got 3 tasks this morning, in it's self is not unusual but one was an sse2, two pni, oops just got two sse3's! I've done nothing to my sys. to exacerbate the execution of this upgrade. Appariantly someone at LHC has tinkered with the code. YAA!!! Thank you Pick

Through all the download failures i've managed to get 16 WU running 8 @ a time of course. After the last good one downloaded my event log let me know my daily quota was lowered from 24 to 12. Is this a response for sending in sooooooo many failures?

Same here!!!! But 13 downloaded, don't know how many failed. Kept updating and different ones kept failing. The ones that made it through are running fine!

Well, while puttsing about I saw my system start to download. As fast as they did they were done. Then the download errors started. I clicked on the transfer button and a half dozen were hung up in there. One click and they downloaded and just as fast they were gone. 30 or so in about 15 sec. .25% download errors. What's up? Pick

I haven't posted since LHC@home started up again. I've been merrily crunching along since 2005! Within the last year I upgraded my old machine to an i7 950. For the last month or so every thing was going smoooooth. This morning I had 18 WU to crunch. As one would finish another would down load, just like clockwork! AND THEN--- no tasks sent---no tasks sent---no tasks sent. That has happened before during all the upgrades being made at your end but never lasted all day long. I also know that an i7 950 is capable of sse2,sse3, sse4,8,13,32,95/ just kidding but I never get any, how come. Hope all these things get worked out. Pick

Well, I guess it's a good thing! I checked the server statis and was amazed to see 1694 tasks ready to send. So I updated my account and got none!!! Then read your message and detached and reattached , still got nothing. I do notice I'm an hour or so ahead of schedule. Is that the problem? I also notice no average run times or users in the last 24Hrs. Respectfully, RH Pick

WoW, it was running HSW for a while till I hit the Quota limit again. I ran 320 in about 10 Min. Most for .02 credits. Now I have to wait for ever to run some more. Hope I don't miss too many that have some real credit!!! Pick

Wow, massive change in the size of each WU! Will have to leave this unit run 24/7 to get these done before deadline. I will make changes to limit amount received. Still good to have things rolling in. Well not as panicky as I thought. Just checked the run times against progress. At first the time was constantly going up and progress was going nowhere. Seems to be turning around now. These are new and I have no experience with them and I can't find any other participants run times to compare. Oh well I'll do my best. Pick

I did the un and reattach thing and all is working fine, except for some reason I'm being limited to running only 3 tasks at a time. Before the change this week I was able to download 15-20 tasks at a time and control the amount running simultaneously. (to keep the CPU temp down) Is this being controled by LHC or is it on my end?

Thanks Keith, I didn't know that! I did check to see if I was sending a lot of errors or invalids and saw not a one.
If I open up 2 more cores will it let me do 20 more? This is the first 8 core processor I've ever had and am a bit of a knothead!
Thanks again, Pick

I just got this message and was wondering what it means.

9/7/2011 9:50:01 AM | LHC@home 1.0 | (reached daily quota of 60 tasks)
Can I only do 60 tasks a day?
